“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in His holy habitation. God sets the lonely in families.”
– Psalm 68:5-6a
Purpose
The purpose of the Adoption & Orphan Care Ministry is to provide support, education and fellowship to pre- and post-adoptive families through:
- Personal ministry of adoptive families
- Presentation of biblical perspectives on adoption
- The support of orphans through missions
We are an encouraging and supportive community made up of adoptive families as well as those considering adoption or are in the process of adoption.
Support
We desire to come alongside families who are considering or are in the process of adoption as well as families who have completed adoption. We seek to provide a loving, supportive and authentic community that will support and encourage families along their adoption journey.
Education
We seek to offer quality, objective information about adoption. This includes honest and accurate information about the adoption process, including the joys and challenges adoptive families often face.
Fellowship
We seek to provide opportunities for adoptive families and children to interact and develop relationships. The group consists of Christian families who have experienced international, domestic, foster-to-adopt or private adoption.
Orphan Care
We seek to provide support to orphans through church-based ministries to the fatherless.

Adoption Resource Guide
Learn more about the journey of adoption
If you are looking to learn more about the journey of adoption or foster care, then our Adoption Resource Guide is a great place to start.
While this guide is very helpful, we recognize that the best resources are often others who have already traveled similar paths, and so we encourage you to consider this ministry and those that make up our community of families as available resources – no matter what your questions, doubts or fears may be.
For 2009, the maximum adoption credit has increased to $12,150. Also, the maximum exclusion from income for benefits under your employer’s adoption assistance program has increased to $12,150. These amounts are phased out if your modified AGI is between $182,180 and $222,180. You cannot claim the credit or exclusion if your modified AGI is $222,180 or more.

Questions & Answers on Domestic Adoption
CPS, Private and Agency
At our March 8 Milestone Class we had a panel of adoption experts including a CPS faith based recruiter, an attorney, a domestic agency and a family who had adopted through CPS. This panel answered questions from the audience about adopting through CPS (foster to adopt), private adoptions, and domestic adoption through an agency. Our family who adopted through CPS shared some of their story as well. We have put this information into a pdf file so that you can download it and use it as a resource. Please feel free to pass this along to your friends.
