Purpose

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
– James 1:27

The orphan care ministry at Houston’s First Baptist Church is designed to come alongside and support our people who are involved in existing orphan ministry, to help develop new orphan ministry opportunities in which to participate and to educate the body of Christ to the needs that exist.

Where Are We Going?

Houston's First mission trips are currently scheduled to go to orphanages around the world. Contact the missions office if you would like to participate in one of these trips.

How Can I Help?

As Pastor Gregg has said our options for obedience are to pray, to give or to go.

Pray

Each orphanage and each mission team going to these ministry sites desires your prayers. Visit the Partner Ministries page for a list of groups & locations that are always in need of prayer!

Give

If you desire to participate in a financial way to meet the needs of specific orphanages or ministry trips see the sites and specific needs listed below.

Go

If you desire to go on one of the mission trips, visit the Mission Trips & Opportunities page and contact the Missions Department for more information.
