Ephesians 5:1-21
A cartoon showed three women leaving Sunday church. The caption read “Don’t you wish housework was like church work; then we could just talk about it rather than doing it.” Unfortunately, the humor of the cartoon demonstrates a major disconnect for many churchgoers; they think that Christianity is basically talking at church rather than living righteously in the real world.
In Ephesians chapter 5, Paul gives some straight talk on practical living. He addresses self-image, morality and even “talk around the water cooler.” In all, he gives multiple actions points for living a life pleasing to Jesus Christ.

History
From 1927 to 1977, Houston's First Baptist Church met at Fannin and Lamar in downtown Houston. In the early 1970s, a popular event was a noon Bible study led by Bro. John Bisagno in the church's Fellowship Hall on Wednesdays.
When the church sold that property and moved to its current location on the Katy Freeway, Deacon Bill Morris negotiated free meeting space in the basement of the Lamar Building so the church could continue the popular Bible study.
Today, HighPoint Bible Study meets on that site, providing downtown workers with physical and spiritual nourishment. It's truly the high point of their week! Everybody is invited—whether you attend HFBC or not!
