Parent Commitment
Parent Commitment is a two-fold commitment available to our parents of new babies under 12 months old. Parents attend a class introducing them to the policies of our Preschool and Kindergarten Ministry, the meaning of the Parent Commitment Service and helpful resources for new families. Then, the parents and child participate in the Parent Commitment Service led by our pastor.
The Parent Commitment Service is held on a Sunday evening prior to the regular evening service. This is a time for parents who are members of Houston's First to publicly express their desire to raise their child in a Christian home, to bring the child to church and to teach their child about Jesus. It is also a time for friends and family to join in corporate prayer for the parents and the child.

Sundays @ 9:15a & 11a - Rm 201 (Heartland)
Heartland is a high-energy, age-appropriate worship experience for PK4s and PK5s (in other words, 4- and 5-year-olds who have not entered Kindergarten). This special gathering takes place at 9:15a and 11a every Sunday in the Heartland room (Rm 201). Each parent of a Heartlander is encouraged to volunteer to worship with the children every eight weeks.
Parents' Night Out
Approximately six times a year, Fusion Ministries offers inexpensive childcare for the married couples of our church. This is a perfect time to enjoy a romantic date night, go out with friends, enjoy an activity with your Bible study class—or just do something fun without the kids! Childcare is provided by the Preschool Ministry of Houston’s First Baptist Church. If you have questions, please contact 713.957.7681. The registration deadline for each PNO is the Sunday prior to the date.
