Our Story

Houston's First Baptist Church organized in 1841 by sixteen men and women. The church has survived through wars, yellow fever epidemics, and hurricanes. Today, the church continues to thrive and grow with Houston, spreading out with new campuses around the city.

Bible Studies

Each person should have a regular place of spiritual growth. Life Bible Studies are the primary method for connecting with others and growing together every Sunday at Houston's First. Other Bible Studies happen throughout the week, and every spring & fall Milestones courses are offered on a variety of topics.

Membership

Membership at Houston's First is open to anyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ alone for the forgiveness of sins and has been baptized by immersion by a body of believers of like faith and practice. If you're ready to join, come forward at the end of the worship service or make your way to the Connection Center.
