Rochelle is a native Houstonian and completed her undergraduate studies at Houston Christian University with a double major in Mass Media and Spanish in 2006. She worked in the Mission Office of HFBC for 7 years where her love for life overseas and ministry grew after many opportunities in leading mission teams throughout Europe and Africa. After being married a year, she and her husband moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2013 and served in the local churches, opened their homes to locals, led worship in their church while her husband worked professionally. Loving, learning, and serving alongside Southeast Asians and expats was a rewarding and cultural experience.

Although infertility was present in their marriage, Rochelle and her husband always planned to adopt, and in 2015, the Lord blessed them with a Malaysian baby boy. The journey of being adoptive parents was unexpected but with an assurance God planned it according to their needs. Rochelle and her family returned to Houston in the summer of 2024 to be near family and to complete her counseling graduate studies.

As a counselor who is a believer in Jesus Christ, Rochelle has a desire to work with all adults especially young adults and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma all through the lens of understanding the whole person (spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally). Rochelle implements techniques connected with the mind and body (CBT), understanding one’s family dynamics and childhood memories (Adlerian) and supporting how two opposing ideas can be true (DBT). She is currently serving with GriefShare but plans to work with other groups including Ashes to Beauty and as a pre-marriage facilitator.

Rochelle and her husband have been married 14 years and worship at the Loop Campus with their 11-year-old son. She loves to sing, travel, host gatherings in their home and enjoys serving at HFBC through their LBS and choir.
