NextGen Summer Celebration
This summer, God has been moving through Houston’s First NextGen ministries in incredible ways. From Vacation Bible School to overnight camps and mission trips, children and students across all of our campuses had opportunities to grow in their faith, build friendships, serve others, and experience the love of Jesus.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is an exciting week where children experience high-energy worship, creative Bible teaching, and hands-on activities, all at no cost to families. This year, every Houston’s First campus hosted VBS, bringing together 4,015 children, volunteers, and families.
Kinder Kamp
Kinder Kamp helps prepare children for an important transition as they move into kindergarten and first grade. Campers experienced elements of Sunday Life Bible Study and worship while becoming familiar with their new ministry environments. Through scavenger hunts, worship, camp games, and Bible stories, 186 children and volunteers spent the week growing.
Camp One Two
Designed for completed first and second graders, Camp One Two gave 59 children and volunteers a glimpse of what a day at camp can look like. Through worship, Bible teaching, games, and a trip to the Houston Aquarium, campers learned what it means to be a friend of Jesus.
Preteen Camp
In Spicewood, Texas, 407 children and volunteers from across Houston’s First campuses came together for Preteen Camp. The week was filled with energy, excitement, worship, Bible teaching, and opportunities for students to grow deeper in their faith and relationships with one another.
Camp Rush
For students in 6th - 8th grade, Camp Rush was a week centered around living on mission. In Rocksprings, Texas, 331 students and volunteers participated in worship, small groups, Bible study, missions training, water sports, hiking, and countless outdoor adventures. Through every activity, students were challenged to focus on the Lord while growing in their understanding of what it means to live out their faith.
Rush Week
High school students took their faith beyond the church walls during Rush Week in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With 300 students and volunteers participating, students spent their mornings serving through hands-on mission projects and their days engaging in street evangelism, outreach, sports camps, and kids clubs alongside local church partners. They had the opportunity to share the Gospel, serve their communities, and see what it looks like to live on mission.
Altogether, these summer experiences brought together thousands of children, students, and volunteers from across Houston’s First. Every game played, Bible story taught, worship song sung, mission project completed, and conversation shared was an opportunity to point the next generation toward Jesus.
Thank you for your generosity and for investing in the next generation. Because of your support, Houston’s First was able to create spaces where children and students could encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and discover what it means to live for Him!
