HFBC Event Artwork: Love Thy City

Love Thy City

Summer Edition

We believe one of the best ways students grow in their faith is by living it out. This summer, our students who have completed 7th and 8th grade students will have the opportunity to serve alongside Montrose Street Reach, a longtime local missions partner of our church.

The night will kick off at HFBC with a quick orientation to help students understand what they’ll be doing and why it matters. Then we’ll head to Montrose Street Reach for what they call “Street Church” which is a unique gathering that includes a short service and a shared meal for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Students will jump right in by helping serve dinner, connecting with people, and stepping into what it looks like to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a real and tangible way. It’s a powerful opportunity but also a special and eye-opening experience that students won’t forget.

After serving and participating in part of Street Church, we’ll head back to HFBC for a debrief to reflect on the night. And then we want to celebrate well how the Lord worked! We’ll wrap up the evening with popcorn and a movie, giving students a chance to relax, laugh, and hang out together after serving.
