Systematic Theology

From new believers to seasoned saints, everyone experiences times of confusion when trying to discern what a Bible passage means and why it’s important. If you have ever struggled to answer a child’s complicated question about God, or wondered why different denominations hold different views, you know it can be difficult to bridge the gap between the Bible and our daily lives. Together, we can take a step into deeper understanding of how to read and apply the doctrines of God’s Word.

This course has two main topics: Bible study methods and systematic theology. First, we will learn and practice technical skills to understand what a passage says, what it means, and why it matters (exegesis and exposition). Then, we will look at collections of scripture passages to see what the Bible says about certain topics (systematic theology). Each lesson will weave together times of teaching and discussion with devotional reflection to integrate knowledge and application. The goal of this course is to align our daily faith journey with the core doctrines of the faith: what the Church has always believed about who God is, how He speaks through His Word, and who He wants us to be as a result.
