Food Drive Blesses Houston Faith Centers

With the recent government shutdown and halt to SNAP benefits, our Faith Centers saw a high demand for food this past month, and many families faced food insecurity. Our Houston’s First campuses, as well as First Baptist Academy (FBA), responded as the hands and feet of Jesus with a shared purpose of making sure the Faith Center Pantry was prepared to serve our neighbors in need.

Each campus held a drive where our church family brought nonperishable food, canned goods, and other essential items to a designated spot at their campus. The collection bins stood as a visible reminder of the heart of a community eager to live out its faith. At First Baptist Academy, students, families, faculty, and staff joined the effort as well! Each classroom was assigned specific items to collect, encouraging participation from every corner of the school. Along the way, students learned about food insecurity in their city and experienced firsthand the impact of serving others with compassion.

Through these efforts, everyone worked together to meet real needs in our communities. The generosity of our church family offered nourishment, hope, and a tangible reminder of God's love.

The true impact was seen not only in the donations themselves but also in the effort behind them. Every individual played a vital role in keeping the Faith Center Pantry fully stocked and ready to serve families. Thank you, Houston’s First family, for making a difference!

We invite you to watch this video to see how your compassion has impacted families across our city.
