Counseling sessions are 45 minutes long. Session rates are based on each counselor's credentials and experience, with reduced rates offered for members of Houston's First Baptist Church and students of First Baptist Academy.

Insurance
The counseling center does not accept insurance. However, upon request, we are happy to provide an itemized invoice or "superbill" that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Because insurance plans vary, clients are responsible for verifying their own coverage and reimbursement eligibility and must submit reimbursements themselves.
Payment
We accept cash, check, and all major credit and debit cards.
Cancellation Policy
Because appointment times are reserved specifically for you, we ask that you notify your counselor or the counseling center as soon as you know you need to cancel.
Appointments canceled at least 24 hours in advance will not be charged. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee, as that appointment time cannot typically be filled on short notice. Exceptions may be made in cases of emergency.
If your counselor is unavailable, you will not be charged for the missed appointment.
If you arrive late, your session may need to end at the scheduled time so that your counselor can remain on schedule for other clients.
Our counseling center does not accept insurance, but can provide a statement. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, the “No Surprise Act”, you have a right to receive a “good faith estimate” explaining how much your therapy service will cost. Healthcare providers are required to provide clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use their insurance for therapy services with an estimate of the cost of those services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total cost of therapy services.
- Make sure your therapist gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your appointment. You may also ask your therapist for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call HHS at 1.800.985.3059.
